Worksheet  – how to write an evaluation

How to write a good evaluation

  1. When answering the questions “What is your strongest area? Why?” and “What is your weakest area? Why?” include:
  • Your strongest/weakest area
  • A reason why this is your strongest/weakest area
  • An example from the video

Example: What is your strongest area? Why?

Structure Answer
Your strongest/weakest area

I think my strongest area is creative thinking.

A reason why this is your strongest/weakest area

This is my strongest area because I made sure every scene had an interesting or fun part.

An example from the video

For example in the introduction when we do a dance, the middle where we are wearing funny costumes and in the conclusion when we sing a song.

  1. When answering the questions “How can you improve upon your weakest area?” include:
  • At least 2 specific ways you can improve upon your weakest area
Bad Example – not specific

I can improve my listening skills by studying hard and practicing with Bu Selvi.

Good Example – specific

I can improve my listening skills by doing two things. Firstly I could study the types of questions people ask when giving instructions so I am more prepared for the video. Secondly, I could practice these questions with Bu Selvi and my video partner to make sure I can answer the questions correctly.

Below is an example of a good evaluation. It was written by a student at Pentagon SMA 10 for the OPINIONS: Movie Review Assignment.
